Paul Williams

Dr Paul Williams is a chemical engineer and is currently the Portfolio Director of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Swansea University. He is also a committee member of the South Wales Regional Members Group of the IChemE. He obtained his PhD from Swansea University in 1996 on Ultrafiltration of Proteins and his MEng Chemical Engineering Degree from Nottingham University in 1992. Paul is highly experienced in the design and development of membrane processes, alongside the characterisation of initial solutions (size, zeta potential etc.) and modelling of membrane systems. His research interests lie in the design and application of novel separation systems for water treatment, resource re-use and water recycling.

 

Paul has been involved with numerous UK research projects (EPSRC and BBSRC) and several European projects working with academia and industry and obtained an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship in 2005. He has over 50 publications (including books and journal articles) with over 2000 citations.
